Project: Marionette Hands – Fred Perry

Brief: “We require a giant pair of marionette hands, they need to be lightweight so we can hang them and we don’t have the budget for timber”..?!?

Well, we do like a challenge.. First, find the correct material.

To establish the correct material and workings of the hand, mock ups were life-size and extremely detailed. Prototypes were produced in paper, polyprop and plywood before arriving at the classic Kraft board.

The final hands had the appearance of timber, the fingers held their position perfectly and the lightweight solution made installation easy. “ Its all about understanding the material”. All development, production assembly and distribution carried by our in-house team.
